The nature and bird viewing visitor centre is of timber construction with a green roof. Photovoltaic panels provide electricity to the building. The building is heated using a water source heat pump, which is submerged in the lake.
The design of the building is based on the form of a bird in flight. The building is designed to fit into the natural landscape, though its form and use of materials.
The building also has a shop, café and exhibition area. There are a number of different viewing areas within the building, which look over the lake and surrounding countryside.
