The farmhouse is located near Llanberis in Snowdonia north Wales. The project was renovation and extension of a derelict farm house. The new extension to the house had to comply with strict planning rules and be in keeping with the existing building.
For the new build extension stone from the site was used to clad it so it matched with the existing building. On the corner of the new extension there are two large curved windows facing to the south to increase the daylight into the building and to allow unobstructed mountain views. There is also a new extension to the back of the house to create a new kitchen, dining area and bedrooms.
The house renovation respects the existing building and also uses sustainable features such as solar hot water heating panels and a wood burner.
